There were 23,5% of consumers in Russia, who preferred to buy a crossover

The saloon cars wree in the greatest demand in Russia, there were sold more than 639 thousand of such cars in 2010. As the consequence, this type of body has the biggest part of market, a little bit less than 39%. These data were presented by analysts of AUTOSTAT agency in the report by the results of year.

Nevertheless, there is a tendency of saloon cars share decreasing during the last time. The demand for cars with hatchback bodies is lower – there were sold 467 thousand units for a year, their share in the market was 28%. The growing amount of consumers prefers the vehicles of SUV category. The share of these vehicles increased by 2,4% till 23,5% for the last 12 months.

By the results of year the estate cars were chosen by 6,6% of consumers and it was more by 1,5% than the indicators of the previous year. The light vans are not popular, their share about 0,6%. The rigorous climate limits the amount of admirers of expensive coupes and cabriolets, the share of which decreased from 0,6% till 0,2%. The sales of mini and compact-vans decreased in compare with 2009: by the results of 2010 their share was 1,6%.
