the Russian automotive market have grown by 48% in July

Sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia are growing for the forth month in succession thanks to the cash-for-clunker program. According to the Association of European Bussinesses, the Russian automotive market have grown by 48% to 173171 units in July. As analysts of agency "Autostat" note, July growth became the biggest one in the current year, though in quantitative terms the last month result was a bit lower, than that in June (174838 pcs). Following the results of seven months of 2010 car sales in our country exceed the last year rates by 9% and are equal to 963988 cars.

As the Association of European Bussinesses notes, inspite of traditional holiday period and car deficit sales results in July were almost at the level of June. Meanwhile, the Association of European Bussinesses expects some decrease of growth rates in August and September, caused by holiday at the majority of Russian automotive factories as well as by extraordinary climatic conditions in a number of regions in the central part of Russia.

Lada maintains its leadership in the Russian automotive market – in July AVTOVAZ has sold 51825 cars, which is 60% higher than the last year rate and 1,3% higher than the June result. It should be noted that last month AVTOVAZ sold 24,5 K Lada cars within its cash-for-clunker program – it is 7,7% higher than in June. Upon that if AVTOVAZ sold 24,7% of cars due to «ecobonuses» in March, then in July the share of “cash-for-clunker” cars in Lada sales already reached 47,3%. Korean Kia took a second place and for the first time became a leader among foreign brand cars – its sales grew by 105% and were equal to 10502 cars in July. At the same time best-selling models Rio and cee’d took 61,5% in the volume of Kia sales. Thus, Chevrolet dropped to a third place wiht its rate of 8986 sold cars (+15%). Renault reached a fourth place, having sold 8574 cars (+29%), and 66,3% of them fell to the share of budgetary sedan Logan that became the most fast-moving foreign model. This time Toyota was the last in the leading "five" of models with the rate of 8251 cars sold (+63%). Such a high result was guaranteed to the Japanese model by offroader RAV 4 in particular, which sales grew by almost 8,2 times last month. At the end of July ÒÎÐ-10 of the most fast-moving models also included Daewoo (7404 pcs, +104%), Nissan (7263 pcs, +86%), Hyundai (7201 pcs, +56%), GAZ (6579 pcs, +15%) and Ford (6209 pcs, +16%).
